Fire,
splendor, shining… the diamond possesses its own vocabulary,
a vocabulary stolen from the stars. "Small fragment
of eternity", the diamond shines with an indescribable splendor
and agitator and it captures the light to reflect it indefinitely.
Unique, always different and more and more beautiful, the diamond
has its own secrets, its own history, and it is inspired accomplice
and attempt in those unforgettable dates.
Four
qualities make of this mysterious stone the symbol of the purity
and the garment of an eternal love, and it is the way how the
diamond is given and imposed forever.
THEIR HARDNESS. The Diamond is known to be the
hardest of minerals, until the point that only another diamond can
scratch it. For this reason, it crosses the time without
never losing temper.
THEIR
SHINE. No stone can equal the shine of the diamond. Their
transparency and their multiple facets confer him an exceptional
ability to reflect the light that, when crossing it, retards their
trajectory.
THEIR
PURITY. Crystalline form of the simplest of elements
(the pure carbon: C), the diamond is the purest in the precious
stones.
THEIR
UNIQUE CHARACTER. Four indissoluble criteria (the four
" C "): Color, Clarity, Carve (form), Carats (weight)
they combine infinitely to make of each diamond an unique gem.
THE
CARVE is the element that allows to reveal the fire and
the shine characteristic of the diamond for its capacity to refract
the light. The stone discovers its more beautiful shine when the
engraver carves and polishes it finely, creating the appropriate
angles and the ideal proportions. To get the perfection, he will
dedicate hundred of hours to the polish of the valuable gross
diamond. When the size is perfect and the diamond has the appropriate
proportions, the sunbeams that enter in the stone are reflected
from a facet to other and they are diffused by the central part
of the stone or the chart.
A
great number of diamonds are carved with a too wide chart or have
inadequate proportions. In this way the diamond wins weight but
loses a lot of shine. This loss of light devaluates the stone.
Whatever their form is (brilliant, pear, navette, emerald…),
the diamonds are carved to maximize their shine and beauty.
THE
COLOR is a decisive aspect of the value of a diamond:
as much as white colorless, stranger and more valuable. The selection
of stones is limited to the strangest colors according to the
classification scale defined by the GIA. This scale begins with
the letter D for the diamonds without color and it continues for
alphabetical order as the yellow or brown tones appear. Although
the colorless stones are the most appreciated to symbolize the
love and the commitment, some experts appreciate the charming
of the color stones.

These
stones get rich with an infinite variety of shades that goes from
the yellow to the brown. Next to the white diamonds, gems really
colored called “color diamonds” that possess an intensity
more or less stronger of yellow, green, pink and even red. The
rarity of these diamonds explains the fact that its value can
be very superior to the value of the white diamonds.
THE
PURITY of a diamond depends on the number of inclusions
who can decrease or not its transparency. It is said that a diamond
is “pure” if any crystallization defect is not appreciated
with the jeweler's magnifying glass, what is extremely strange.
In fact, all the diamonds almost contain sludges who are marks
of the nature. These sludges, imperceptible at first sight, they
don't necessarily alter the beauty of the diamond but their value.
Certain international norms classify the stones in function of
the different categories of purity.
The following figures show the diverse degrees of purity of a
round diamond:
F. FLAWLESS (CLEAN).
IF. INTERNALLY FLAWLESS (INTERNALLY CLEAN) No inclusion, but some
external mark, removable with small repolish.

VVS. VERY VERY SLIGHTLY INCLUDED (VERY, VERY SMALL INCLUSIONS)
VVS1. Inclusions that are located in the periphery of
the diamond or insignificant end up flaws.

VVS2. Small inclusions in the body diamond or insignificant
end up flaws.

VS. VERY SLIGHTLY INCLUDED (VERY SMALL INCLUSIONS)
VS1.
Some very small inclusion or several small, without caring their
location y/o some smaller flaw in the end up.
VS2.
Some inclusion or several small, and/or some flaws in the end
up.
IF.
SLIGHTLY INCLUDED (SMALL INCLUSIONS)
SI1. Inclusions observables to lens blow, without caring location
and some flaw in the finish.
SI2.
Inclusions easily observables to lens blow and some flaws in the
end up.
I.
IMPERFECT
I1.
Bigger inclusions and important flaws in the end up, in great
number and generally observables at first sight.
I2.
Very notorious inclusions at first sight and important flaws in
the end up. Some times the number and size of the inclusions blocks
the step of the light through the diamond.
I3.
Inclusions clearly observables at first sight, in great number,
generally dark with important opposition to the step of the light
and that, in occasions for their size, these put in risk the the
diamond durability.
THE
WEIGHT of a diamond is expressed in Carats. 1 Carat is
equal to 0.20 grams. For the professionals, a Carat is divided
in 100 units called points or hundredth. Although the weight of
the diamond is an important element when determining its value,
this criteria can´t dissociate about the color criteria,
purity and carve previously mentioned.

This
way, two diamonds of the same weight could have different values
if their other characteristics are not identical.
Whatever
the weight of the diamond that you has chosen was, this will have
been selected, carved and mounted with the meticulousness of the
traditional techniques of Joyeria Hispana.
